“All I wanted to do was get my peanuts off to the best start I could, and VAULT offered me more than what regular inoculants do. Our soils are good, but they aren’t peanut ground. They get wet and they’re clay, not sandy. So we have to have something that wards of disease when we get a lot of rain in May and June, like the biofungicide they put in VAULT.
“Then we were crying for rain this summer. We just didn’t think the peanuts were going to be good. But I’m sure VAULT helped in root development. The vines were pretty, good-looking vines. They undoubtedly withstood the dry weather more than I thought they would, because we had some outstanding peanuts this year. We’re probably running close to 4,800 pounds off 600 acres, compared to 3,200 pounds in other years.

“I started using inoculants many years ago, in the 1980s. On some of our light soils, using an inoculant like VAULT means we’re assured each peanut plant is getting the nitrogen it needs.
I was using one inoculant, but they changed their product and the price went way up. With VAULT, the cost was good, plus you have the biofungicide in it. So I felt VAULT was more suited for us.
